Tell us about your vineyard
Located at the crossroads of Gers, Landes, and Hautes-Pyrénées, the agricultural high school of Riscle offers vocational training in BTSA in Vine and Wine professions, as well as in environment and nature. The agri-viticultural operation of the Riscle Agricultural High School began in the early 2000s.
The estate produces wine and Floc de Gascogne. The Floc is made by students under the guidance of the teaching team.
In parallel, the estate is developing an experimental hub on its land with its partners to produce differently (reducing the use of phytopharmaceutical products, using natural products, etc.).
What distinguishes your Floc blanc?
This Floc offers a range of white-fleshed fruit aromas. Made with juice from Colombard, Gros Manseng, and Sauvignon Blanc, it is perfect as an aperitif or in a fruit salad. With its golden color, it has a floral and honeyed nose with aromas of prunes and dried fruits. On the palate, its apricot and honey notes stand out, offering a rich, indulgent taste.
What distinguishes your Floc rosé?
Made with Colombard blanche, this fruity and gourmet aperitif stands out for its strong aromatic intensity. Its fruity character and long finish make it an ideal summer aperitif. Thanks to its Merlot-Tannat blend, we find the red fruits that characterize Floc de Gascogne.
Where can we find your Floc?
Our Floc is available for purchase on the website: www.terroir-du-gers.fr
It is also available at the Mirande school shop (Domaine de Valentées) and, of course, at the Riscle school.
Do you organize visits to the estate?
Only during Open House Days and the annual Wine Fair.
What are your projects and current events?
We were awarded a gold medal for our Floc blanc at the 2024 CGA in Paris.
Regarding future projects, we are working on developing more products with blanche d’armagnac.
